This notice covers this website. Each stokvel's own site has its own privacy notice for its members.
Who we are

What we collect and why
When you send the sign-up form we receive your name, email address, phone number, your stokvel's name and details, your message and your IP address. We use them only to reply to your request, prepare a quote and set up your stokvel's site if you go ahead. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Where it is kept
The form sends your request straight to our administration system, hosted in South Africa; this website itself does not store it. Only our staff can see it.
How long we keep it
If you do not become a customer, we delete your request within 12 months. If you do, it becomes part of your stokvel's account records.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to its use, by writing to support@stokvelplatformsystems.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Stokvel Rescue
Stokvel Rescue, at rescue.stokvelplatformsystems.co.za, is our service for checking a member's share or a stokvel's books. It has its own privacy page, which applies to that service. When you use it we collect your email address and the member names, dates, amounts and bank transactions you enter or upload. In paid checks we also collect any statements or books you upload as PDFs or photos. We use this information only to calculate and show your result. Cases and uploads are stored encrypted and deleted automatically 3 months after you last change them. You can delete them yourself at any time from the "My data" page.
In paid checks, the pages of a document you upload are sent to OpenAI, an AI service, so the text and numbers can be read. We ask OpenAI not to store them. You check the result before it is used, and we delete the original file as soon as it has been read.
Payments are handled by PayFast. We do not see or store your card details, and we keep the order, amount and receipt for tax and accounting records. If you choose "Ask SPS to contact me" after a result, we pass on only the stokvel's name, number of members, club type, a short summary of the result, your email address and the name and phone number you enter. We never send your transactions or figures. The PDF report and onboarding pack are produced for you when you ask for them and are not stored. We receive the pack only if you choose to send it to us.
Cookies and fonts
This website uses one cookie to show you the result of the form. It sets no tracking or advertising cookies, and its fonts and images are served from this website, so visiting it sends nothing to other companies.
